Week 02 | Reflection

Introduction
Carrying out user testing this week was a little challenging for me, our task involved presenting in a group call. For my own research I was able to take notes while attending classes to evaluate how this was currently done. However when tasking another person to do this while observing there are limitations. The testee was able to ‘Join’ a meeting but not a group meeting, fortunately they were able to recall & talk me through how they would normally reach this goal.

Another challenge was the different versions of MS Teams. How I interacted with the app was different to theirs, and to my team mate. In the end we discovered our volunteers reacted better to a ‘PC Style’ interface & designed for that.

I thoroughly enjoyed creating personas, I feel they are a very high quality asset. They create a meaningful connection with you which makes for a better understanding & well thought out design. The term ‘proto persona’ was new to me. Although I have created many ‘proto personas’ in the past unknowingly.

Going forward
I would have preferred if I put in more time to research the different version of MS Teams & their functions. I felt it hindered the prototyping process but I am thankful I made this mistake early on in my course studies and not where it would have impacted project research much more.
